Oh, yeah. He DID mention a few pages back that this whole epic storyline could end in just 7 weeks. I'm wondering if anyone thinks that'll happen, or if it's just a tease.

Archie 601 is out...here's a breakdown:
[spoiler]The art still hasn't improved much, I'm still wondering what's up with Veronica's face. But at least there are less jowls this issue.
So we start off with a recap of issue 600, ending with everyone worrying about Betty. Cue a page and a half of the guys trying on ill-fitting tuxes, and the girls enjoying a spa day, minus Betty. Who then walks in with a dude named Henry who appears nowhere else in the comic, and they both leave a few panels later. We then cut to some pre-wedding jitters on Veronica's part, with Archie reassuring her they would be fine. Then we see the chaos of preparing, the faculty of the high school being picked up in a limo bus and the road to the mansion congested with traffic. Looks like Archie got his small, intimate wedding in the backyard after all.
Cue the weirdest conversation ever between Archie and Betty. He tells her they will always be friends, but he loves her like a sister. So all those times you got hot & heavy in the backseat of your jalopy were what exactly? I love how understanding Betty seems to be, she's just accepting defeat and not even fighting him on this whole 'sister' issue, she's just depressed because Archie chose Ronnie. Then we have the set up, walk to the aisle before the double page spread of the 'I now pronounce you...' bit with all the guests and another splash page of the kiss, and another of them getting riced. Obligatory dances, plus a nice man to man talk with Reggie leads us to the toasts. Cue clichés abound from the dads, a crying Betty and a deformed looking Juggie.
We span to the cake smash which leads to a food fight, though during the bouquet toss, everyone is clean. Of course, Betty catches it, cue her talk with Ron which lasts all of two seconds before the happy couple is off on their honeymoon. On a Lodge owned island, closing out on a closed door surrounded by hearts.
Cut to one year later, where Archie is stressed by his job, gives Reggie a handout employment and is quite worn down. The Veronica announces she is pregnant, and Archie faints.
All in all, it was an okay issue, I'm not surprised they pulled the whole baby idea, but now I'm beginning to doubt we'll get a three story arc of him marrying Betty, which I think most fans are expecting. We'll see what happens in 602 come November. [/spoiler]

Archie 602 is finally here.
[spoiler]So the art is probably the best of the three, but the faces still seem off to me. Anyways, we start off by Archie fumbling the announcement of OMG Baby! to his parents. I love how Archie's justification of them being ready to be parents is that they've been together a long time. Even though it's been established they've been married for around a year and before that Archie dated several girls, none of them steadily. And apparently the kids will be named Little Archie or Little Veronica. Wow, what originality...Then Juggie, Reggie and Moose bust in and offer to train the child in their respective strengths. I fear for that child. When Mr. Lodge is told, he changes his will so that his future grandchild will be left his most valuable possession, his childhood sled, Rosebuddy.  Skip to Betty, who has been laid off, and is single, making her introducing her boyfriend in the last issue entirely pointless. She is asked to be the godmother, which Veronica admits in a bit of foreshadowing that she probably wouldn't have taken so well if the positions were reversed. Cue fast forward to Lamaze class and food cravings as well as Archie's plan to bring Ronnie to the hospital himself in their little pink sports car when the time comes. Then we have a rather stupid scene where Juggie subs for a sick Veronica during the last Lamaze class and we have the usual Archie/Jug destruction. Fast forward again to the chaos of labour and getting to the hospital as well as the grandparents in the waiting room. Then, twins! Which I guess the ultrasound never picked up on, since everyone was talking about it like they were only expecting one baby. We see how exhausting having twins is, and how the ritzy lifestyle changes, and how they never learned babies are supposed to face the back of the car when in car seats. We then get a montage of a few big steps in growth. Then it's magically Christmas, with Archie reading Frost's Two Roads poem *coughmetaphorcough* Then we see Archie walking in the first snow, up Memory lane, cuing the issue to close and informing us the next three issues will be the Betty marriage.
Overall, this storyline was kind of cute, and I enjoyed it, though I did have problems with the art. And Archie referring to Betty as his sister, that's still bothering me. We'll have to see how the next three issues are handled before I make an overall decision.[/spoiler]

To be honest, I'm enjoying this wedding arc. Keep expecting Rory or whatever--Ethan's brother--to steal the thunder with some bombshell announcement or something.
